Hey All,
As if it wasn't enough that this Thursday, June 14th, is notable for
being a day that you are all invited to play bridge at the Pink Palace;
as
if we weren't all charged by the news that June 14th, 1736 was the day
Charles-Augustin de Coulomb was born; as if we wouldn't all stand up and
salute the fact that on this day in 1777 the Continental Congress
proclaimed the Stars and Stripes to be the nation's official flag; as if
it
was never heard said that John Bartlett made his first appearance this
day
in 1820; as if we could ever forget that on June 14th back in 1864 the
memorable Alois Alzheimer was brought into this world; as if it was not
revolutionary enough that Che Guevara uttered his first cry for freedom
(from the womb) on this day in 1928; as if it was not a dear enough
memory
that this day in 1942 was when "Bambi" debuted; as if it weren't ironic
that on this day in 1942 the U.S. Supreme Court decreed that
schoolchildren
cannot be forced to salute the American flag; as if it weren't rich that
Donald Trump first showed his assets on this day in 1946; as if we
wouldn't
fondly reminisce that on this day in 1982 Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder
topped the charts with "Ebony and Ivory";
As if all of that was not enough to make this Thursday a remarkable day,
it
is also Dave's birthday. So make sure to give him lots of shit about it
at
bridge.
